Portable Hardness Testing
SPI NDT Limited can carry out on site portable hardness
testing using Equotip
or MIC-10 (GE) testing equipment.
The Equotip Bambino is a portable hardness tester which
employs the rebound method to measure hardness values of metals. The
hardness value is calculated from comparing the energy of a test body
before and after impacting on a sample. Resultant hardness values can
be converted to all common scales (HV, HB, HRC, HRB, HRA, HS, Rm)
The
MIC 10 enables quick and convenient on-site hardness testing according
to the UCI method (Ultrasonic Contact Impedance standardized according
to ASTM A 1038). The diamond indent in the material’s
surface is electronically measured and instantly displayed.
Hardness scales available are HB (Brinell), HV (Vickers), HRC
(Rockwell C), HRB (Rockwell B) and N/mm2
